I just came back from my first visit to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and I had a blast. For anyone wondering if it’s worth it- it definitely is! The party is a separate ticketed event held on certain nights at Magic Kingdom. Prices vary on the night you choose. The event starts in late August and goes all the way up to the beginning of November.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Highlights:
SInce it’s a separate ticketed event, the park closes to regular guests at 7pm that day. You have to have a party wristband in order to be able to stay later. As a party guest, you can arrive at the park at 4pm and stay until the party is over. This is a great way to knock out 8 hours in the parks without paying full price for a park ticket. Up until 7, all of the rides, restaurants, and character meets are on normal schedule. After the party starts, things get a little spooky….
Once the party begins, certain rides and restaurants are closed, and the real fun begins. Spooky music is playing, and the cast members are wearing their holiday best. Trick or treaters are able to dress in costume and go around to special designated candy locations to trick or treat from cast members. Special characters come out during the party, such as villains, Jack and Sally, Lotso, the 7 Dwarves, and more. There are special party treats in various locations throughout the park, such as Halloween cupcakes, cheesecake, candy corn ice cream and even pumpkin spice mickey waffles. Exclusive merchandise is available for party goers to buy, and special events take place.
There are 3 special events that happen at multiple times in the park: the HalloWishes fireworks show, the Sanderson Sisters Villain Spectacular stage show, and MIckey’s Boo to You parade.
The castle/stage show is a lot of fun. The Sanderson Sisters bring their villain friends to the party and even sing “I Put a Spell on You” . The HalloWishes fireworks show is a tribute to the villains, and is absolutely magical. And my favorite part of the night was the Boo to You parade. Mickey and his friends dress up in Halloween costumes and invite the villains and friends to their parade. There are appearances from the Haunted Mansion, ghostly dancers, graveyard diggers, and a skeleton band.
If anyone is looking at going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and wondering if the money is worth it, it definitely is, The whole party is magical and very special. Disney really goes out of their way to make it a night you won’t forget.
