Outfit styling tips: I have spent countless hours on pinterest and looking through magazines trying to figure out the secrets to perfectly polished outfits. I always wanted to look like the effortlessly cool girl, the one who always looks like she’s better dressed than you. Here’s a few of my foolproof tips:
Outfit Styling Tips:
Add a statement necklace or earrings. Even with a basic jeans and tee combo, a statement necklace will make you look 10x cooler.
Don’t be afraid to mix patterns. Find which patterns you can mix flawlessly and rock them. Whether it’s polka dots and plaid, or cheetah print and stripes, you CAN master pattern mixing.
Add a pop of color. Wearing all black is chic, but how much cooler is your outfit with a red bag or floral shoes? You’ll look more elevated and put together.
Follow the third item rule/rule of 3. If you’ve never heard of this before, the third item rule is adding an essential third item to your outfit to make it look more pulled together. So if you’re wearing jeans and a tee, add a scarf or vest. A blouse and skirt looks more interesting with a sweater. Get creative and take the extra time to look like you made more of an effort than you did!
Create a uniform. This is an idea that has been circulating for a few years now. Create a power outfit for yourself, and get comfortable in it. Whether you do it literally, like black pants and a white button up worn to work everyday, or if it’s just a style that you rock on days you need the boost. Think of silhouettes that you love, like skinny jeans+oversized top+flats or a dress+sweater+booties. I reach for my uniform outfits when I’m running late, or want to feel really great.
Bonus Tip: Take the time to get things properly fitted. Get a tailor, and take the time and money to make your clothes look really great. Invest in clothes that are going to last longer, and you will look more pulled together.
