There’s something you need to know about me: I’m a baby when it comes to spice level.
I cry when I’m told a food is spicy, because I know I can’t eat it.
I like my salsa very mild in flavor; this recipe delivers on mildness!
So here’s the perfect recipe for a simple, superb salsa.
First, take five medium-sized tomatoes and chop them in your food processor. (My food processor is a small one, so I chop the the tomatoes by hand before I chop the tomatoes!)
Do the same with an onion and about 6 sprigs of cilantro. Add a couple of pinches of salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes,
I know; I know. Some people hate cilantro, but I don’t think you can make salsa without it.
(If you desire my heat, add a jalapeno, with or without the seeds.)
That’s just me.
Mix everything and refrigerate for a few hours before serving with your favorite chips, tacos, burritos, or enchiladas.
(Guac is a vegetarian superfood; here’s my recipe!)
