My Elevation Church worship experience occurred as we were on our way to the Isle of Palms, SC, for a recent vacation. It was an amazing experience, which I have not previously encountered in almost three decades of being a Christian.
When I was 25, I was baptized and began my journey. Years later, I’ve heard countless sermons, attended Bible studies, and read many books. I’ve grown a great deal, so I can tell you without reservation that this church is unique. Here’s why.
Elevation Church Worship Experience:
The welcome. Volunteers staff the parking lots offering welcome to members and visitors alike. When I stopped to chat with four volunteers and told them it was our first time, they literally walked up to the door we needed to enter, engaging us in conversation the whole way. We received two welcome gifts (a CD of Elevation Worship music and a t-shirt), too. Score! We felt immediately the love of Jesus in those volunteers. There were others, too, including one who prayed with us and several other visitors.
The music. Elevation Worship is the worship team leading the music experience at Elevation Church. Their songs are consistently on top of the Billboard charts and for good reason. Their music is uplifting, motivating, and reinforcing of Biblical truths about Jesus. My current favorites are “Grace Like A Wave,” “Here As In Heaven,” “Greater,” and “I Can’t Believe.” Having a bad day? Listening will put you into a Heavenly frame of mind.
The pastor. Steven Furtick is the head pastor of Elevation Church, and his teaching is beyond any I’ve seen, heard, or read. He easily blends Biblical truth, concrete examples, and humor. The result is that one can listen and leave knowing exactly how Furtick’s message applies to everyday life. It’s practical learning for Christian living.
My Elevation Church worship experience was phenomenal, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return when I’m in the area.
I encourage you to seek out one of the 17 campuses of Elevation Church and be blessed!
