Hello, Divas! I’m Saundra, otherwise known as the Diva of Christmas!
(If you missed my Christmas décor post, read it here.)
Truth be told, I love creating seasonal décor year round.
For autumn this year, I decided to make a floral décor basket as a centerpiece for my kitchen table.
You won’t believe how simple it is!
Autumn Floral Decor Process:
First, I found three nesting baskets. The ones I purchased were inexpensive, but Longaberger baskets would also work beautifully!
Next, line each basket with soft green floral foam up to the lip of the basket. Glue the foam securely.
I also purchased a piece of round soft floral foam and cut it in half.
Because the second and third baskets need to sit higher, I drew a circle in the foam to cut and glue to the bottoms of the baskets.
I placed the second basket on top of the first and made a base using a long garland of fall leaves.
I anchored the beginning of the garland with floral pins and used my hot glue gun to put glue over the pins.
I put the garland on in a circle, so I could use more hot glue and pins until the layer was full.
Once the base was finished, I hot glued the second basket to the base basket.
At this point, I started to glue fall picks to the first basket, being spontaneous and creative with placement of the picks!
I used a bush of slightly different colored leaves for the top of the second basket.
I did the same for the top basket and added a candle with a four-hour timer.
Then, I placed copper picks and sprigs of greenery to make it pop more!
I glued the final basket in place and left it in place overnight to dry thoroughly.
My motto is to go big and flashy, and I think this décor piece perfectly illustrates that!
Have fun making your own autumn floral basket!
